Fitness and Exercise: BMR calculators can assist in creating personalized exercise and fitness plans. By understanding your BMR, you can allocate appropriate calorie distribution among macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and fats) to meet your individual nutritional needs. Nutritional Planning: BMR calculators are useful in planning a balanced diet and ensuring adequate energy intake for overall health. By creating a calorie deficit (consuming fewer calories than your BMR) or surplus (consuming more calories than your BMR), you can work towards your weight goals. Caloric Intake Planning: If your goal is weight loss or weight gain, a BMR calculator can guide you in determining the appropriate caloric intake to achieve your desired outcome. By comparing your BMR to your daily caloric intake, you can make informed decisions about adjusting your diet and managing your weight effectively. Weight Management: Knowing your BMR can help you determine the baseline number of calories your body needs to maintain its current weight. Here are some common uses of a BMR calculator: The BMR is a crucial component in understanding an individual's energy needs and can be used for various purposes. ![]() The BMR calculator provides an estimate of the calories needed to sustain basic bodily functions, independent of physical activity or exercise. The BMR calculation takes into account factors such as gender, age, weight, and height, as these variables significantly impact an individual's metabolic rate.BMR represents the energy expended by the body to maintain vital bodily functions, such as breathing, circulation, and cellular processes, while at complete rest. A Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) calculator is a tool used to estimate the number of calories an individual's body requires to perform basic functions at rest.

![]() The imposing appearance of the convex, Romanesque nose can lend itself to an imposing personality: "He had the hulking, imperious nose of a conquistador." Regarding a thin and straight nose, you might say, "Her long, delicate nose matched her refined sensibilities." Of course, your character's nose may also belie his or her personality. Physical descriptions can be used to reinforce character. What the nose suggests about inner character is only limited by a writer's imagination. These are just some of the connections others have made between physical appearance and personality traits. In contrast, the “snub” nose was described as rare and attractive, a small nose sloping upwards at the tip, yet suggestive of immaturity. This nose was associated with sensitivity, generosity, and helpfulness. The “fleshy” nose, which is protuberant like the convex nose, was the most common type among men. Writing in “The Daily Mail,” Fiona Macrae describes how 14 types of noses have been linked to specific personality traits. When writing, it helps to understand how physical features like the nose can be indicative of inner character. This over-projecting shape lends itself to a variety of adjectives: "He had an imposing, Romanesque nose," or a "hooked, aquiline nose." If your character's nose is small, and flat or concave in projection, you could easily say, "She had the cutest button nose." Similes also can be used to strike effective visuals: "His nose was as thick and crooked as a tree branch," or "a thin and straight as a shark fin." Understanding Nose Type and Personality For example, maybe you've decided your character has a convex nose. On the contrary, each shape can serve as a framework to help the writer find even more compelling words. Describing Nose Shapesīy no means are writers limited to these basic shapes when describing a character's nose. Other nose features include hooked noses, nasal bones, wide bases, turned-up noses, pointy noses, narrow nostrils, etc. Others may have more generalized nose features, like a big nose, a celestial nose, a fleshy nose, a hawk nose, a freckled nose, a long nose, an East Asian nose, etc. For example, someone may have a Nubian nose, a Roman nose or a Greek nose based on their cultural background. Facial features can be explained and described in many ways for different reasons. The bridge is completely straight, the nostrils narrow and the tip pointed. Straight, or Grecian, noses are the opposite. Which sort of nose do you have? Although you can’t tell much about the external shape of the nose when looking at its internal structure, a narrow, longer internal cavity is generally linked to a relatively narrower and more projecting nose, Holton says. This can be the result of a former injury or a genetic trait. So “people from warm climates, moving into cold climates, could be more susceptible colds and related diseases,” Noback says. In warm-climate-adapted populations, inhalations are not directed toward the narrow upper part of the nasal cavity for warming. “Proper heating and humidification of air in colder climates are important for respiratory health,” says paleoanthropologist Nathan Holton of the University of Iowa. Microscopic hairs called cilia, which line the nasal passage, help to keep out pathogens and dust that may infect or irritate the lungs, and the cilia work more efficiently when incoming air is moist. Cold, dry climate populations also show a relatively longer nasal cavity, giving this population more space in which to bring incoming air in line with body temperature. This narrowing of the nasal passage enhances contact between the air and the mucosal tissue, which helps to warm and humidify that air, Noback notes. Her research was published online in the American Journal of Physical Anthropology this past June. They found that the nasal cavities of cold, dry climate populations are relatively high and show a larger and more abrupt change in diameter in the upper part of the cavity than those of hot, humid climate populations. The German team, led by Marlijn Noback of Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, took computer-aided measurements of the nasal cavities of 100 skulls representing 10 human groups living in five different climates. Researchers in Germany recently showed that individuals from cold, dry climates, such as Greenland or Siberia, had higher and narrower nasal cavities than those from hot, humid climates, such as Papua New Guinea or Gabon. New research is showing that climate may have played an important role in how the nose’s internal structure evolved. Scientists have long been interested in the relation between a nose’s form and its function. ![]() Saisho ni iidashita no wa dareka? The metro district would source mostly from the Arapahoe and Laramie-Fox Hills aquifers, but offsite wells from neighboring lands owned by 4 Way Ranch will “likely be needed” for full development, meeting documents show. An acre-foot of water is enough to cover an acre of land to a depth of about one foot and is considered the amount needed by a family of four for about a year. The Grandview Reserve Metro District would provide water to the Grandview Reserve subdivision, which needs about 1,200 acre-feet a year, developers said. The district also said forming four new Grandview Reserve Metropolitan Districts “would provide an economic alternative for services and would eliminate undo financial burden” on the 4-Way Ranch Metro District No. ![]() In a March 31 letter addressed to commissioners and included in meeting documents Tuesday, the 4-Way Ranch Metropolitan District said it cannot provide services to the proposed Grandview Reserve subdivision because it does not have enough water. 2 already existed and could serve Grandview Reserve.ĭevelopers contended several other nearby districts - including the 4-Way Ranch, Meridian Ranch and Woodmen Hills metro districts - cannot support nor pay for traffic, water and storm drainage improvements planned for the area, meeting documents show.Ĭourtesy of El Paso County/Edward-James Surveying Inc. Owners of a newly built $400,000 home in the subdivision could owe about $1,859 in taxes annually, Dykstra said. Developers will charge each future property owner special district taxes to finance the $295 million debt. County planner Kari Parsons said homes were expected to sell on average for about $340,000. ![]() J Agric Food Chem 51:742–745Ĭampos MGR, Bogdanov S, Almeida-Muradian LB, Szczesna T, Mancebo Y, Frigerio C (2008) Pollen composition and standardisation of analytical methods. So by the laws of physics, there is simply no way the LS50 can play reasonably deep bass at reasonably healthy volumes (at least nowhere near the capabilities of a Genelec 8040B) without serious bass distortion issues. The latter has a 6.5” woofer vs the KEF LS50’s cited 5.25” one which is actually going to be closer to the displacement of a 4” since it’s concentric around the inner tweeter, of course. So for example, a pair of KEF LS50 Wireless 2 costs $2500USD, which is about the same as a pair of Genelec 8040B’s. Due to such a high crossover, not only do you require two subwoofers to prevent seriously localized bass, but have essentially entered amateur speaker design territory since getting the crossover and phase perfect here is not exactly trivial. And as a result of this, you’ll have to cross over your subwoofers at 120hz or so (though some owners have even reported them straining to play loud, even when subwoofers are crossed over this high, so might require a crossover as high as 200hz). ![]() But the LS50 Meta start rolling off bass heavily below 100hz, which is simply not acceptable as a self-contained system IMO since you won’t even be able to reproduce some notes of some instruments without severe attenuation. ![]() The LS50 Meta measurements I’ve seen would indicate they are very competitive when combined with at least two subwoofers, as a less expensive alternate to Genelec coaxials (if you’re okay with the KEF’s narrower beam width). Click to expand.Yes absolutely they appear to be fantastic for what they do, but perhaps I misinterpret OP as looking for a set of two active speakers that won’t require dual subwoofers just to be capable of a reasonable amount of bass. |
